Her biggest crush is back in town and right next door...
Delilah Stewart never stood a chance with Charlie Brandon, the high school bad boy. She was the dork with glasses and a backpack stuffed with books. He was the jock who won Homecoming King three years in a row.
She was no one then.
Not anymore. Between her bookstore and glowing presence in town, Delilah is living up to her "most likely to succeed" label. She has everything she wants. Everything except the boy who was out of her league.
Charlie Brandon is back in town and on the run from a broken heart.
Not that he’s willing to admit it out loud. It’s not as if he has any time for love. Running Haven’s Mill’s newest coffee joint is taking all his attention...until he runs into now-grown good girl Delilah. She owns the bookstore next door. And she’s even cuter than she was in high school.
The only problem? He’ll have to risk one more heartbreak to be with her...
Wishful is a sweet romance free of explicit scenes and language. Get swept away by rekindled romance in the vibrant, small-town atmosphere of Haven’s Mill.

Wishful A Second Chance Romance eBook Dahlia Hayes Reviews
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
A sweet, fun read that holds the reader's interest. The characters are realistic and well portrayed. The story is very original. The writing is great. After having success in LA, Charlie returns to his hometown and runs into Dee. She owns a bookstore, and he is opening a coffee shop next door. Twists and turns along with tears and smiles.
I voluntarily received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review. The book is billed as a small town love story featuring a Delilah nerdy bookworm and Charlie the schools former homecoming king. I liked the idea of the story but the execution left a lot to be desired. Delilah went from feeling Charlie was unattainable for many years to them being in a relationship. There was no progression, one send he is off limits and then they are together. The situation was rushed and because of it you really didn't get a feel for either character.
Delilah Stewart left her home town of Haven's Mill to attend college in Washington state, she has now returned and owns a book store called "Bookmarks." Charlie Brandon moved away to L.A. but it did not work out so he has moved back to Haven's Mill for a fresh start. Both Delilah and Charlie new of each other in high school and now after all these years they find they are now going to be business neighbors. Charlie is bouncing back from a bad relationship and very hesitant of others motives which throws some twists into the story. All in all this was a good story, great characters and enjoyable storyline. This was a new author for me so I wasn't sure what to expect but I was not disappointed. I am looking forward to her next book. "I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book."
Wishful A Second Chance Romance y Dahlia Hayes is a sweet contemporary romance. It is Charlie and Delilah's story. Delilah always had a crush on Charlie but she never had enough confidence to try to date him and after high school he left town. She never thought she would see him again. Charlie knew who Delilah was but he never thought of her. When he returns home to open a coffee shop he sees her again and she's not the girl he remembers her to be. He's drawn to her but he's not looking for a relationship. He was way too hurt by his last one. The more time they spend together the more the two of them fall for each other. Can they both get over their pasts to have a future. Or will they continue to dwell on it and miss their chance at happiness. I would recommend Wishful to anyone who enjoys sweet and clean contemporary romances.
This is the story of Dee and Charlie who went to the same high school, but didn't hang out in the same social circles. Charlie comes back to their hometown to nurse a bit of a broken heart and some shattered ideologies where women are concerned. Dee is for the most part happy in her life, but a bit lonely - she's got her mission, saving of her bookstore that's having a hard time staying afloat. Charlie's drop back into her life not only brings some romance possibilities, but also a new coffee shop business next door.
Tensions arise when Charlie's previous relationship experience bleed over and cause him to look for "corporate" spies everywhere......seeing the error of his ways and finding the right balance make this a sweet story and worth the read.
I received an ARC copy but am voluntarily leaving a review.

Overall, I found Wishful to be a fairly good book. It was a fast, easy read with a HEA. I was excited by the premise of the book but a little let down by the actual story.
The story felt a little rushed to me. Personally, I find half the fun of a story like this is the build up to the romance. The tension and the wait. But it felt like Dee and Charlie went from 'not happening, off limits' to in a relationship in a heartbeat. It also felt like more time was spent lamenting over what Dee and Charlie's ex's had done than their new relationship. Then there was no enjoying the new relationship before they launched into the big fight over the sign. It was a ridiculously juvenile thing to fight over, especially for so long. That just didn't feel like something their age would argue over.
Overall, it was first time reading Dahlia Hayes and I'd probably give her another shot with a different book. I doubt I'd read this again though.
I voluntarily reviewed and advanced reader copy of this book. Overall it was a cute light read, however it all felt really juvenile. Everything about the relationship of the characters felt very highschool and rushed, but considering it's a story, about a girl who gets the chance to date her highschool crush while he gets over a previous girlfriend who used him for his business tips I guess they stayed in the highschool mind set. I had a hard time dealing with the thought process of the 2 characters. I thought the story was cute, but I wouldn't read this again or recommend it. They go from reconnecting to girlfriend and boyfriend in the span of 2 pages, they fight and break up over a sign, which was hard to even understand because even if the guy was worried about her using him, he could have looked at all the major bookstore chains that all have coffee shops in them. Overall it felt rushed and a bit immature to me, even the way the guy described how he decided to start his business, seemed like a juvenile attitude to something that happened in a business setting, and she's running away from a guy who humiliated her in college. They never give closure to her guilt about her father's disappointment in her. It just wasn't something that drawed me in or kept my attention.
What a sweet story. Just a sweet romance without the language and other naughty stuff. Just super sweet! Great job!
